Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are utilised throughout the mineral exploration and mining sector due to the ability to effectively bring together data and ensure effective analysis. As the technology surrounding it continues to improve and develop, it is essential that these developments be understood and utilised. By learning and interacting with new GIS strategies, you can ensure that your business remains competitive, and that cost-effective measures are in place to save you time and money when conducting exploration, expansion, or ongoing mining operations.
GIS in Mining and Exploration 2010
The conference agenda was developed using research directly from GIS Managers, Geologists, Exploration Managers and Cartographers. This means that the topics are directly relevant to those working with GIS in the industry. Case studies from exploration companies and mine sites across Australia will combine with expert research presentations in order to demonstrate not only what is being done now, but also where GIS is heading for mining and exploration targeting.
Sessions will cover topics addressing the challenges faced by those working in the field. Presentations, panel sessions and roundtable discussions will combine to cover themes such as training, data management, visualisation, exploration targeting, and more. You will hear a range of experiences from across twelve different mining and exploration projects both Australian and International, all maintaining a focus on how this information can help your project with practical advice and insight into common pitfalls and areas of difficulty.
